International architectural design competition – Preliminary design
Inclusive and Sustainable Housing in the United Kingdom
The Home of 2030 competition addressed the theme of housing with a forward‑looking perspective, focusing in particular on several major challenges: an ageing population, the rise of home‑working, the need to reduce the number of energy‑intensive dwellings, and the imperative to build homes that foster cohesion, inclusion, and social relationships.
The four overarching objectives at the core of the competition were to create housing units designed for all ages, with low environmental impact, capable of promoting healthy lifestyles and improving quality of life, and able to meet the diverse needs of the housing market.
