International competition – winning design

“The nest House” is the winning design at the DBEW competition, organized in 2002 by the South-Korean company Hanssem. The competition theme – to design an apartment for an Asian family of two adults and a child – was fulfilled by creating a multipurpose living room where all furniture are grouped into “functional nodes”  located on the room perimeter. This way, the domestic space dynamically expands and contracts like a magic box.
