CLEOPATRA’S KIOSK – LONDON
Location: London, United Kingdom
Client: Samuel Alexander ltd. London
Year: 2004/2007
International design competition: winning design
Design level: concept, developed, and technical design
Status: completed
This is the winning design of a design competition, organized by the RIBA – Royal Institute of British Architects – aimed at the construction of a new kiosk, for selling boat tickets and souvenirs, located on the Victoria Embankment, adjacent to the Charing Cross station and the Golden Jubilee pedestrian bridge in Central London.
We designed a large “mutant” object, which modifies its configuration and reveals its “open” and “closed” states through changes of form and luminosity.
