Our The Nest House project is the winner of the second edition of the “DBEW Design Beyond East and West” competition organized by the Korean furniture manufacturer Hanssem Corporation; 552 entries were submitted to the competition.
It’s the project for an apartment for an Asian family, composed of two adults and a child – where all main functions are grouped and located along the living room perimeter. This way, the domestic space – that can expand and contract, depending on the needs of its inhabitants – is a place where the daily activities of the family are “emphasized” by the movements of a series of colored, translucent shells – the “nests” – that enclose the main functional areas of the house.
